Getting True Remote Data Collection

Many concrete sensors on the market are using short-range technologies like Wifi or Bluetooth. Bluetooth can work for some applications but it has the major thoughback of having a limited range. This means that to collect the sensors’ data, you need to get within an 8 m range and wirelessly link to the transmitter with your smartphone. Devices running on Wifi have a much better range but this comes at the expense of high battery consumption.

Our sensors are running on an IoT network, called Sigfox, that features a very long range paired with low battery consumption. This allows the sensors to send data to the cloud directly, without the need to get close to them, and preserves their battery life, prolonging the sensors’ battery life.
