What is Sigfox?

Sigfox is the worldā€™s leading network for Internet of Things (IoT).

Sigfox offers a global LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network), which means that the network technology offers long-range, yet low energy consumption. It is tailored as a lightweight protocol to handle small data transmissions, ideal for connecting billions of sensors and devices to the cloud.

The global network deployed by Sigfox covers 1.3 billion people across +70 countries. In areas with insufficient coverage, a Sigfox Gateway can be installed on-site.

How is data transferred to the cloud?

  1. The Maturix transmitters wakes up and sends data using its built-in radio antenna
  2. Multiple Sigfox antennas or gateways in the area receive the data
  3. The antennas/gateways send the data to the Sigfox Cloud
  4. The Sigfox Cloud sends the data to Maturix

The benefit is that you can have hundreds of devices sending data across long-ranges – and they will all be appearing in real-time in Maturix.
