Using concrete sensors as a testing firm

We are working with concrete labs and material testing laboratories globally. Many of these labs benefit from the Maturix system, either reselling them to their clients, thus creating added value and increasing trust, or using it internally to improve efficiency.

What Is the Maturix System?

The Maturix system is a solution for intelligent temperature and strength monitoring in concrete. The system lets you see the real-time temperature and strength development from any device. This allows you to know exactly what is happening inside your concrete in terms of temperature and strength development.
The Maturix system consists of one or multiple transmitters, sensor/s, and the Maturix In-situ platform. Sometimes, you can add a Sigfox gateway to the system to improve the network coverage. We offer two online platforms, Maturix In-situ for in-situ castings and Maturix Precast for precast factories. See the complete system below:

System Overview Strength And Maturity Monitoring

Using thermocouples cast directly in the structure and connected to a transmitter, you can continuously measure the temperature inside the concrete. The collected data is sent wirelessly to the cloud platform, and the software automatically calculates the maturity and strength based on the history data and the concrete mix. You can then follow the strength development process. The data is accessible from any device, thus smartphone, tablet, or computer, with an internet connection via the web portal or app and provides real-time insights into the actual curing status inside the structure in several positions for each cast.

Reselling technical services

Reselling a wireless concrete sensor solution like Maturix is a good opportunity to expand the business offering to the same client. Moreover, the data that your clients gather might help you to answer some of the typical questions:

Maturix offers a solution with accurate remote data collection. As a lab, you can keep track of concrete temperatures across all your projects in real time. The sensors in the platform are easy to manage across various projects. If required, people from the same company can access several projects using the same login.

When a project is over, this can be archived, and the devices will become available so you can allocate them to a new project. Furthermore, all devices are marked with a unique ID, and you can assign them a specific name. This makes it very easy to track which sensor is which. Below, you can see an image of our Gaia 200 sensor with its ID.

Gaia 200

Internal use in lab

Our Gaia 200 can enhance the day-to-day operations at your concrete laboratory or testing facility. Some examples of use cases in labs are:

Maturity monitoring on specimens

Sensors can help you keep track of your specimens. The Gaia 200 can measure temperature and transmit it in real time. Then, the maturity will be calculated automatically. This means you can always know the maturity age and can create an alert when a certain maturity level is reached.

Water bath temperatures

You can use the Gaia 200 to keep control of the water bath temperatures. Placing a probe in the water bath will enable continuous monitoring with SMS alarms. To keep the water bath temperature around 20°C, you should set the alerts at 18°C and 22°C.

Climate monitoring in labs

The Orbit 3 can monitor the ambient temperature and humidity. Documentation will always be available on the platform, and you can set up SMS alerts on both high and low temperature and humidity levels.
