Standby mode
Standby mode is the default state when no thermocouples are connected to the Gaia 300. It automatically transitions to monitoring mode once a thermocouple is connected to the device.
Situation |
LED Behaviour |
---|---|
No thermocouples are connected to Gaia 300. |
All green LED indicators are turned off. |
Attention: Gaia 300 may remain in standby mode while maintaining an active Bluetooth® connection under specific circumstances. It is signalled by the LED indicators blinking blue every 20 seconds. (Please refer to the ‘LED Behaviors for Bluetooth®’ on page x).
Configuration mode
Situation |
LED Behaviour |
---|---|
Batteries are installed into Gaia 300. |
LED indicators blink yellow and blue until configured (15-minute window). |
Attention: If Gaia 300 is not configured within the 15-minute window, the device will enter standby mode but still require configuration.
Monitoring mode
Attention: Monitoring mode is initiated when one or more thermocouples are connected to Gaia 300. In this mode, the device actively monitors and collects data from the connected thermocouples.
a) Transitioning from standby to monitoring mode
Situation |
LED Behaviour |
---|---|
Any of the three thermocouples is connected to Gaia 300. |
LED indicators sequentially blink green from left to right (occurs once). |
b) Waiting for thermocouple input
Attention: After connecting the first thermocouple, the device will wait 15 seconds to allow you to connect the remaining thermocouples before the first measurement.
Situation |
LED Behaviour |
---|---|
The first thermocouple is connected to Gaia 300, and the device waits 15 seconds to allow the connection of the remaining thermocouples. |
LED indicators corresponding to the connected thermocouples turn green and blink continuously during the 15-second window. |
Attention: If you cannot insert all thermocouples within the 15-second window, the device will measure and send the data for the ones connected during the window but will monitor all channels upon the subsequent measurement.
c) Measuring and sending data
Situation |
LED Behaviour |
---|---|
The 15-second window is over, and data monitoring and transmission begin. |
LED indicators corresponding to the connected thermocouples remain lit in green during the monitoring and data transmission period. |
d) Monitoring mode
Situation |
LED Behaviour |
---|---|
Gaia 300 is in monitoring mode. |
LED indicators corresponding to the connected thermocouples blink green twice every 20 seconds. |
e) Transitioning from monitoring to standby mode
Situation |
LED Behaviour |
---|---|
The last thermocouple is disconnected from Gaia 300. |
LED indicators sequentially blink green from right to left (occurs once). |
Bluetooth®
a) Enabling Bluetooth on Gaia 300
Situation |
LED Behaviour |
---|---|
Bluetooth is triggered by an NFC tap or connecting /disconnecting a thermocouple to/from Gaia 300. |
LED indicators sequentially blink blue from left to right (occurs once). |
b) Bluetooth is enabled
Situation |
LED Behaviour |
---|---|
Bluetooth is on and ready for connection. |
LED indicators blink blue twice every 20 seconds. |
Attention: Bluetooth turns off after 15 minutes of inactivity.
c) Connecting to Gaia 300
Situation |
LED Behaviour |
---|---|
The smartphone is successfully connected to Gaia 300. |
LED indicators remain lit in blue. |
d) Syncing data
Situation |
LED Behaviour |
---|---|
Data is actively syncing. |
LED indicators sequentially blink blue from left to right during syncing. |
e) Disconnecting from Gaia 300
Situation |
LED Behaviour |
---|---|
The smartphone was successfully disconnected from Gaia 300. |
LED indicators blink blue twice (occurs once). |
f) Disabling Bluetooth on Gaia 300
Situation |
LED Behaviour |
---|---|
Bluetooth turns off automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity. |
LED indicators sequentially blink blue from right to left (occurs once). |
Low battery / Error
a) Low battery
Situation |
LED Behaviour |
---|---|
Gaia 300 is low on battery. |
LED indicators blink red for 15 seconds. |
b) Error (when booting/inserting batteries)
Situation |
LED Behaviour |
---|---|
Gaia 300 has identified a failure in one of its components. |
LED indicators blink red for 15 minutes, creating an alternating pattern between the outer and middle indicators. |
c) Error (during monitoring mode)
Situation |
LED Behaviour |
---|---|
Gaia 300 has identified a failure in one of its components |
LED indicators blink red four times, creating an alternating pattern between the outer and middle indicators, and it occurs immediately after the regular 20-second green and blue blinks. |
