What Are They?
The Maturix system is composed of hardware (Gaia 200) and Software (In-situ or Precast). The hardware products are purchased while the software works on a subscription basis. This means that you pay a subscription fee (per device) in order to use it in the system. The subscription includes access to the system (with unlimited reports and users), SMS alarms sent through the system, a Sigfox data subscription and technical support.
- If a device does not have an active subscription, it will not be possible to use it in the Maturix software.
The most common subscription intervals are 3 months, 1 year or 3 years, depending on the timeframe of the project or castings. But from February 2022, it is possible to set any subscription length as long as it consists of full months (see full details in the Managing Subscriptions section below). This means that you can select any start date but the end date will always be the last day of the month.
How to create a subscription?
Normally, when you buy the Maturix system for the first time, you choose an initial subscription period. The last day of the subscription period will be the Commitment Date. Once this initial subscription period finishes, you have the option to extend it or cancel it. After cancelling a subscription on a device, you have 12 months to reactivate it again. We explain in detail these three processes in the Managing subscriptions section.
Subscriptions in Maturix In-situ
Maturix In-situ has a dedicated tab to see and manage all your device subscriptions. This can be found by going to Device Manager and selecting the Subscriptions tab.
- The Subscription tab is only visible for users that have the Administrator role in system.
Subscription status
In the Subscriptions tab, you can see the subscription status of each of your devices. Some of the important elements in the status are:
- Commitment Date: The last day of the interval that you have committed for. For example, if you purchased a 3 year subscription on 01/01/2022, the Commitment Date will be 01/12/2025.
- Paid Until: The day until which the subscription is paid.
- End Date: The day that the subscription ends.
- Recurring Interval: Time period between the subscription being invoiced.
Managing Subscriptions
Apart from visualizing the subscriptions status, you can also activate, extend or cancel subscriptions by clicking the Manage Subscriptions button. This is located in the top right corner.
Activate subscription
If you have a device without subscription, you can activate or reactivate it using this option. The steps to do this are explained below, both in video format and written text.
- When you cancel the subscription on a device, you have a year to reactivate it. If the subscription is not activated during this time, it will not be possible to reactivate it again. This means that the device will become unusable.
- Go to Device Manager
- Select the Subscription tab
- Click the Manage Subscriptions button located in the top right side.
- Under Actions select Activate subscription
- Select the device/s you want to activate
- Choose a Payment Method (invoice or credit card) and a Billing Interval (one time payment or every 3 months)
- Select a Start Date, this date should be the date when you want the subscription to start
- The next option is the Set end date for subscription.
a. If you tick this box, the device subscription will:
i. If you choose the one time payment (in the Billing Interval), the subscription will end at the day that you select.
ii. If you chose to be charged every 3 months (in the Billing Interval), the system will calculate the end date taking this into consideration. This means that if you choose a date that is above 3 months and does not match the recurrent interval last day, the end date will change. For example, if the starting date is 01/02/2022 and you select the end date to be 31/05/2022 (4 months). As the period will be longer than the 3 months interval, the system will automatically change the end date to 31/07/2022 (6 months). This is visualized in the figure below:
b. If you do not tick this box, the device subscription will keep being charged every recurrent interval.
9. The last two options give you the chance to change the Invoice Reference or add a comment.
10. Click the Submit Request button
11. Once you submit your request, we will process your request and provide you with an answer within 7 days. During this 7 days period, the device will still be available for use in the Maturix Software.
Extend subscription
If you already have a subscription and you want to extend it, you would do it with the Extend Subscription. The steps to do this are explained below, both in video format and written text.
- Go to Device Manager
- Select the Subscription tab
- Click the Manage Subscriptions button located in the top right side.
- Under Actions select Extend subscription
- Select the device/s you want to extend the subscription for
- Select a Billing Interval (one time payment or every 3 months)
- The last two options give you the chance to change the Invoice Reference or add a comment.
- Click the Submit Request button
- Once you submit your request, we will process your request and provide you with an answer within 7 days. During this 7 days period, the device will still be available for use in the Maturix Software.
Cancel subscription
If you do not need a device for a certain period, you can cancel its subscription. The cancellation request needs to be sent at least 1 month before the next payment is going to occur. Note that if you have a Commitment Date, it is not possible to cancel the subscription before this. The steps to do this are explained below:
- When you cancel the subscription on a device, you will have a year to reactivate it. If the device does not have an active subscription for more than a year, it will not be possible to reactivate the device subscription again. This means that you will not be able to use that device anymore.
- Go to Device Manager
- Select the Subscription tab
- Click the Manage Subscriptions button located in the top right side.
- Under Actions select Cancel subscription
- Select the device/s you want to cancel
- Choose a Cancelation Reason
- The next option is the Set end date for subscription.
a. If you tick this box, the device subscription will end the closest possible date from the one you selected. This means that the system will calculate the closest end date taking this into consideration your recurring interval and Commitment date. For example, imagine you have a recurring interval of 3 months, and you select the 31/05/2022 as your end date. As the period will be longer than the 3 months interval, the system will automatically change the end date to 31/07/2022 (6 months). This is visualized in the figure below:
b. If you do not tick this box, the device subscription will be cancelled the soonest date considering the Commitment Date and Recurring Interval.
8. The last two options give you the chance to change the Invoice Reference or add a comment.
9. Click the Submit Request button
10. Once you submit your request, we will process your request and provide you with an answer within 7 days. During this 7 days period, the device will still be available for use in the Maturix Software.
