How to give a sensor a custom name

If you want to give a sensor a more friendly name than its six-digit serial ID, you can give it a custom name on the Sensors page, and e.g. add a physical label with the name on the device.

To give a sensor a custom name:

  1. Click on Sensors in the menu
  2. Find the sensor you want to rename and click on the edit icon next to its Sensor ID
  3. In the pop-up, enter the new name for the sensor and click on Save settings

The Sensor ID will now show both the custom name and the serial ID of the device.
