Installation process
1. Install thermocouples
Secure the thermocouples with cable ties at the positions you want to monitor.
2. Connect transmitters
Plug the thermocouples into the wireless transmitter to start the continuous data transmission.
3. Pour concrete
Cast the concrete and start the software monitoring to follow the curing process in real time.
4. Get real-time results
Access the data remotely inside the Maturix In-situ software and stay updated with alarms.

How is the data transferred to the cloud?
The device transmits temperature readings wirelessly to the cloud using the Sigfox network or via Bluetooth®. Sigfox is a global wireless network dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT), known for its low power consumption and longer range compared to WiFi and Bluetooth. You can set up a Sigfox Gateway at your job site to create coverage – even at remote locations.

Do I need to be at the job site to access the data?
No, you can access temperature and strength readings from your computer or smartphone anytime, anywhere, as long as you are connected to the internet. After installing the equipment, you gain the flexibility to monitor temperature and strength development online in real-time, providing valuable insights remotely.
In the case of poor or no coverage, being on the job site near the device is beneficial for seamless data access. Gaia 300 allows users to sync stored data to the cloud via Bluetooth®, ensuring continuous monitoring even in challenging connectivity scenarios.

How is the installation done?
The installation process is quick and straightforward. Secure the thermocouples to the rebar, connect them to Gaia 300, and position the transmitter securely. Gaia 300 facilitates automatic data transmission every 15 minutes once a thermocouple is connected, ensuring a smooth and reliable monitoring process.

What is embedded in the concrete?
Only the inexpensive thermocouples are embedded in the concrete. Gaia 300 is mounted next to the cast and can be reused repeatedly. This provides excellent flexibility and helps maintain low costs per monitoring.

What is the battery lifetime?
The battery lifetime depends on the usage and the conditions. When the thermocouple is inserted 24/7, the batteries last up to 8 months before requiring replacement. In typical operation, Gaia 300 will have a battery life of 1-2 years.

How many Gaia 300 do I need?
The number of devices required depends on the nature of the project. Gaia 300 is a three-channel transmitter, enabling the connection of up to three thermocouples per device. To determine the necessary quantity of devices, assess the number of monitoring positions that require simultaneous measurement.

How does the internal memory backup feature in Gaia 300 enhance data retention?
Gaia 300’s internal memory backup, featuring encrypted data storage, ensures the preservation of critical monitoring data even in locations with limited Sigfox coverage or poor connectivity. This advanced security measure allows for data storage, facilitating access to past measurements and maintaining a comprehensive record of the curing process.
The memory will contain the last 35620 measurements performed by the Gaia 300 – equal to one full year of operation. Once the memory is full, the Gaia 300 will automatically delete the oldest measurement to accommodate new measurements.
