How to Create Calculated Series (Delta and Weighted Averages)

What Are Calculated Series?

The calculated series have been added to allow you to calculate temperature differentials (delta) and weighted averages for temperature, maturity and strength. At Maturix, we offer two options: delta and weighted average.Ā 

Delta

  • The Delta option can only be selected with temperature. When this is selected, the software will calculate the temperature difference between two monitorings. This can be very useful if you need to monitor temperature differentials in your mass concreting pour.

Weighted average

  • The weighted average can be selected with temperature, maturity and strength. This option allows you to create the weighted average of two or more monitorings. If you select to calculate the weighted average of the temperature, the two or more points will be added and then divided according to the weight you defined.

How to Activate It?

To create the Calculated Series:

  1. Go to Projects
  2. Find the Cast where you want to add the seriesĀ 
  3. Click View Cast button which is located by the castā€™s name
  4. Once in the cast page, click the Actions button located in the right hand side of your screen.Ā 
  5. Select Add Calculated Series
  6. In the pop-up menu, fill:
    • Give a Title to your calculated series
    • Select a Type:
      • Delta: Select this type if you wish to calculate the temperature differentials.
      • Weighted average: Select this type if you want to get the weighted average for temperature, maturity and strength.
    • Select the Monitorings that you wish to use for the calculation. If you selected Delta, you will only be able to select 2 monitorings at the time.
    • Select the Charts where you would like to include the calculated series.
      • Delta: Select this type if you wish to calculate the temperature differentials.
      • Weighted average: Select this type if you want to get the weighted average for temperature, maturity and strength.

7. Save the changes
